In Defense Of Marriage

Recently, in Maine, voters voted on proposition 1. The proposition stated: “Do you want to reject the new law that lets same-sex couples marry and allows individuals and religious groups to refuse to perform these marriages?” The majority of the voters voted yes, and with that Maine repealed their law which would have allowed same-sex couples to be married. Now, in Maine, it is against the law for same-sex couples to be married. I agree with the majority of voters in Maine; same sex marriage should be outlawed. My opinion on homosexuality is deeply influenced by the words of the Bible. The Bible has many scriptures about homosexuality; it states a clear position on the topic. Read more ––>

Freedoms of speech, religion, to assemble… But are we using our life to make a difference in creating a better world? How about in America? America has declined. Unless this nation's leadership lives up to the mission ordained by God, many troubles will come. God is beginning to leave America. This is God’s warning. In our time, all Christians should be world champions, destined to fulfill for God the role of the right-hand side thief. Christians must rise & be willing to struggle for the salvation of the world. But Christians today are too busy perfecting their separate denominations & church interests.

People need to understand why we are here. It is to inherit the true love of God. The hope of God, our heavenly parent, is that we become a true parent, just like God. Marriage is a foundation for that process. Then, upon that foundation, as a man and a woman united in God centered love, we have children. Through developing the parent-child relationship, and realizing how much we love our children, we come to understand how much God loves us as our heavenly parent.
As we reflect on marriage and what is going in the world, let’s also reflect on ourselves. As W.R. points out in this post, Jesus said “he that is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone…” We have a tendency to point fingers. We all have some difficulty within us. Yet, God loves us. Let us be grateful for the mercy of God, and testify the truth and live by it. Our motivation should not be based on judgment and accusation, but it should be because we care about others. We care about our brothers and sisters. I think God our heavenly parent would enjoy seeing us taking care of one another as a family.
Very nicely put, hopefully this gets to the reading eyes of Christian gays and their supporters. However, great number of gays and their supporters are not Christian. In fact, I am sure that many of them are not religious at all. This is where it get’s more difficult. It’s simple to show anyone who believes in the truth in The Bible that homosexuality is not natural and should be fought against, but how do you convince those who don’t have any belief in The Bible or God?
